Monica
Ursino is a fresh face and a talented new
voice to the Catholic music world. This
24-year-old from Massachusetts recently
released her debut CD “The Way,” featuring a
unique blend of electronica/organic/rock/pop
sounds...something totally new to the
Catholic music scene.
Monica's mission is to spread the truth to the younger
generation, who are in need of encouragement
and hope.
“My main intent with my music is to entice a
thirst for more, a thirst for the happiness
that one needs to live in this world. When
listening to my music I would hope that one
would move beyond the beat and enter into
the world of words . . . words of
consolation, of comfort, and of
encouragement. There are so many voices all
around us distorting TRUTH in every aspect
of our culture, and I feel called to change
that.”
Monica says that her own life and journey to
Christ has shaped her music and thirst to
minister to young people through music.
“Because I myself was once one of those
impoverished youths, hypnotized by today’s
persuasive culture, I feel called through my
gift of music to make a change and a
responsibility to be that change. I feel the
media is doing such a great disservice to
our culture by bombarding us with all types
of
offenses and trying to undermine our
intellect and desensitize us. I feel the
time is now and there is no better time. I
hope I can do my part to get us back on
track and help bring back the misguided.”
Stomp
Machine, the mixing studio of Monica’s CD
“The Way” describes her music as “a
cool combination of simple to bizarre
electronica with a dash of organic
instrumentation.”
The song Two Tablets was dedicated to
Chief Justice Moore and his battle to defend
the Ten Commandment Monuments. The title
cut, The Way was written in defense
of traditional marriage. For those who’ve
been waiting for a fresh alternative sound
in Catholic music, Monica Ursino is a good
place to start.
